CANADIAN LAKE RICE
This long grained Canadian lake rice is found in the cool crystal clear waters of the Canadian heartland. It is still picked as it was years ago by native Canadian Indians using both traditional and modern methods. Most of the Canadian lake rice is now harvested using air boats similar to that found in the Florida everglades. Lake rice is harvested in the fall at the peak of maturity. It is specially processed to give it the best possible nutty flavor. The color is a bit darker than our normal Minnesota lake rice which will add to the cooking time, but it will be worth the wait. |
